When Should You Join A Skating Club?
You may have noticed the display or bulletin
board at our skating rink with information on joining the Utah Figure Skating Club and you may have wondered when your child
should join our skating club. Once your child has completed the Basic Skills
Levels taught through the Learn to Skate Program at The South Davis Recreation Center it is a good time to join the Utah Figure
Skating Club.
Our Skating Club has many things to offer skaters
of all ages and abilities. Nearly all skaters, from those who are just transitioning from Learn to Skate and have yet to pass
their first United States Figure Skating Association test, to those skating at Nationals, belong to a skating club. Membership
in our club allows your child to take official U.S Figure Skating tests or compete in competitions beyond basic skill. To participate in these activities, a skater must be a full member of U.S Figure Skating
and the best way to be a part of U.S. Figure skating is to be a member of our club.
By being a club member, you are automatically eligible to compete in nearly all USFS competitions across the United
States. You will also receive a subscription to "Skating", the official magazine
of the USFS. As a club member, you can also take advantage of many things such
as the opportunity to perform in club ice shows, monthly club ice parties, annual club recognition dinner and other special
events. But most importantly, being a member of our club gives the skater a place
to call home.
